Description of the Ideal Candidate
This position is for a facility of less than 75 employees. It is an old, large facility with multiple buildings. The best person for this position will be someone that has manufacturing engineering background. There will not be product or equipment design, but will work closely with maintenance to maintain and suggest repairs to existing equipment. They should be someone that has some knowledge in safety, osha, quality and purchasing as well as maintenance.
General Function:
Oversees the technical aspects of repairing, installing and designing plant equipment as needed. Provides engineering services such as production design & Layout, industrial engineering and estimating. Supervises the maintenance and repair of plant equipment. Reviews preventative maintenance schedules. Notifies plant manager of equipment problems affecting production. Maintains records and plans budget relating to plant engineering functions. Plans, arranges and supervises major plant tooling & equipment installations. Assist in developing plant tooling and equipment. Purchase supplies and equipment
Education &
Experience:
Degree in engineering with 2-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
Considerable knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical and electrical systems and equipment. Good communication skills both verbal and written. Have knowledge of Osha regulations, safety programs, environmental, purchasing and supervision
