Assistant Controller Description:
The Accounting Specialist role will involve performing various accounting tasks such as A/P coding, A/R, and inventory management.
Additionally, is responsible for addressing discrepancies and carrying out month-end closing procedures as required, while working collaboratively with the accounting department.
Key Tasks (Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following.
):
Responsible for all week/month end reports of inventory (weekly inventory summary).
Coding bills for approval from the management team A/P entry Monthly/Quarterly tax reporting Data entry for farm production activity Open and close groups in the accounting system Contract Grower payments Intercompany invoicing Bank Reconciliations Assist with administrative overflow and special projects from other departments as needed Supervisory Responsibilities None Qualifications Basic understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel.
Experience with Great Plains or other accounting software.
Educations and/or Experience BS in Accounting or Finance or comparable accounting experience.
One year of related accounting and inventory experience preferred.
Language skills English Mathematical skills Advanced Reasoning ability Ability to input, analyze and report data Certificates, licenses, and registrations None Work environment This position is located in an office environment.
